In my head it resets to zero every day.
Something I never expected about becoming a successful DJ. I still don't walk on stage and feel like I automatically deserve to be there.
I think the audience imagines that once you've made it, you can just relax. For me it's the opposite. Every crowd feels completely new. They didn't see the show last year. They didn't care what happened on a live stream. In my head it resets to zero every day.
That's why I feel the need to do so much preparation and so much practice. It's not because I'm confident. It's because I want to feel like I've earned being there in the moment — not for what I did in the past, but for the work I've actually done today.
If you can relate to that, if you feel like you need to prove yourself every single time, there's nothing wrong with that. It just means you've found something that actually matters to you.
